Not that I've been around much recently anyways, but just putting a note up that it will probably last until about Wednesday of next week. I have three papers due between now and then as well as homework readings, an Italian composition, my JET application, and my counselor app.

In terms of progression, it goes red --> blue --> yellow --> pink, with 1-5 dots signifying how close you are to moving to the next level. The base colour varies depending on the character. For example! Almost everybody starts off with a blue with ~~Allen~~ Kakeru. 8D Higher if they're a cute girl. Whereas, with ~~Miharu~~ Haruhi, most people would be red. IT'S SUBJECTIVE and pretty. And if you get anything in the pink range, chances are, they either love you madly, or want in your pants. Or both. :(

How's life? Pretty good! Boyfriend had emo over his mommy leaving camp, but Tohru leaving largely does not affect Kakeru, so he's chill. Despite the fact that he still hates Shigure and he's still wary of Johji, Kakeru is actually in a very good place. He has a boyfriend who's hot, he has friends who are awesome and retarded, and he has a not!daddy who yells at him and beats him. WHAT MORE COULD A GUY ASK FOR?

Plans for the Future? Run across Johji and Yuki in a compromising position, possibly do more TEAM MARSHMALLOW!1 stuff (guys we haven't done that in forever D:) Also Kakeru needs to learn how to use his AT, since he's been busy with other things and hasn't had time to practice anything but the basics. I'd like for him to meet more people as well, cuz he had a fun thread with Sokka a while back and he hasn't taunted Keigo in forever. Essentially: Kakeru's social circle, it must expaand.

Posts to be Made: SOMETHING TEAM MARSHMALLOW, c'mon Tomo, Ikki, you know you wanna. Possibly some kind of AT practice post as well, or just Kakeru antics. Kakeru always has antics.

Haruhi-

How's life? C-confusing! But good! FOR THOSE WHO MISSED IT, Kyon and Haruhi had a nice long talk in Kyon's journal a while back, which resulted in the two of them being a kind of not!item. This makes Haruhi feel good, so she's probably been a lot perkier around camp lately, but at the same time, Kyon and Haruhi are RETARDS who do not TALK about shit, so it's still in a sort of tenuous, uncertain place. But still, Haruhi loves camp. She loves being here, she loves meeting new people, she loves doing crazy things, it's all awesome. She has her moments of frustration, but it's pretty hard to keep her down for long in a place as awesome as this. |D

Plans for the Future? Re-meet Roxas cuz I was on hiatus when he intro'd. :< They can bond over the whole "I was here before!" thing, totally. Along with that, maybe potentially move back into the cabin with Kyon? But at the same time, she kind of needs to stay in her cabin. Because. Abusing Zuko with Azula's help is just too much fun. Plus Haruhi approves of TyLee, so yeah. She needs to get to know the Avatarcast more, I feel.

Posts to be Made: I dunno. Some kind of big Brigade activity again. Something suitably spring-related, preferably. I'll have to look up any and all SUPERNATURALLY RELATED HOLIDAYS coming up to see what I can do.

OOC Things to be Done: Canon review in chronological order and read the novels. :| I keep on telling myself to read the damn novels, but I never do.

Simca-

How's life? Chill! But a little cramped! Simca is kind of getting cabin fever HARDCORE because not only is it just now getting warmer and nicer at camp, but she's getting very close to the point where she can actually start walking around and, yanno, leaving the hospital. So she's probably likely to be a bit more pouty and frustrated until she can take that big step forward (no pun intended) but once she's there, I predict wondrous improvements for her mood and her social life. :D She'll definitely be a whole lot happier to be able to visit Ikki on her own as well as just. Walk around outside barefoot and stuff.

Plans for the Future? See aforementioned GET HER WALKING. I also need to have Simca meet more perverts. :/ In kind of the same way that I love it when women touch Guy I love it when perverts grope Simca. Because she plays along and enjoys it like that. Also just throw her around more and get her to meet people other than Ikki and his gang. Maybe have her bother Mammon more. I love Simca's relationship with Mammon. :|b Or also Yamamoto.

Guy-

How's life? Could be better, but it's all right! The biggest concern on Guy's mind right now is Mukuro. Hilariously enough, even though he didn't catch the whole stabbing-Ikki part of the apology post, he's still pretty concerned about how what Mukuro does is affecting Luke. He doesn't like to see someone making Luke upset like that, and while he's confident that, between the two of them, he and Luke can find some way to get what Mukuro's problem is and figure out some way of fixing it so he stops hurting people, but part of him also wants to maybe confront Mukuro on his own. Or confront Mukuro with Jade, because Jade would be able to decipher Mukuro's crazy not!speak. :/

Asch is also a peripheral issue, but he and Natalia seem to be making decent progress for as much of a retard as Asch is, so he's pleased with that. Otherwise, he's pretty much enjoying camp, fights zombies, wanders around, doesn't get touched by women nearly enough (you know you want to fix that)

Plans for the Future? Other than talking with Mukuro and/or Jade, not much. I should get him to meet more swordsmen and hold down a solid thread with Yamamoto, because they'd get along so well. Also get him badtouched by more women. |D

Posts to be Made: God, I dunno. Something generic so I can get him to meet people, I guess. Maybe I can stick a "Hug Me" sign on his back and enjoy the eventual freakout as women TOUCH HIM. Or maybe something with Peony and rappigs. I have no post ideas for Guy really. >:

How's life? Lovely! :D Amber is, of course, in a perpetual state of :) and camp makes that no different. She enjoys all the interesting people she's met her, she's happy that Hei is here and Yin is with him and that he's made friends. She's also super glad that she can see the stars at night. Pretty much, Amber is chill. Amber will probably never be anything but chill.

Plans for the Future? Stalk Hei moar (hey Hei maybe we can do that post together) Thread more with the GL group. Meet more rapists like Nii and Akio. Maybe spend a night in Akio's observatory. |D

OOC Things to be Done: Revisit her icon coloration scheme again. But between a convention this upcoming weekend, a convention the weekend after, and the first draft of my senior thesis due the weekend after plus various assorted RL stuffs putting a lot of stress on me lately, I'm going on hiatus.

HARUHI ON LOVE

Okay, like I mentioned in Mukuho’s poll, Haruhi’s thoughts on love are something a little bit complicated! So! Essay!

All right, like I mentioned in the meme, Haruhi actually has a very naïve and childish attitude toward love. We see this most illustrated not necessarily in how she outwardly says she views relationships, which her saying she doesn’t have time for them, but rather in how she depicts relationships in what she makes. Essentially, the whole Mikuru episode. |D

Here I think we get a great perspective of what Haruhi’s ideal romance would be. I say this because the whole rest of the film pretty much encapsulates Haruhi’s ideal world. There’s time-travelers, ESPers, Aliens, everything she could want. But overlapping it is this RIDICULOUSLY DORKY romantic story. In which girl must look after boy but secretly loves him. And boy doesn’t seem to notice girl but secretly loves her. And they are willing to brave EVIL ALIEN WITCHES to be together and share sappy domestic time together and walk by the sakura and kiss.

So, subconsciously, I really think that’s the kind of relationship that Haruhi wants to be in. In my opinion, a lot of stuff Haruhi feels and a lot of how she views the world is very naïve and childish. This is probably getting a little off-topic, BUT I AM ALLOWED. In my mind, Haruhi still very much sees the world as a child and still very much behaves like a child. See her response to the thought of Kyon liking Mikuru. :/ If you won’t be my boyfriend I’LL BLOW REALITY UP. Oh Haruhi. Another thing that kinda supports me on this is HOW she chooses to differentiate herself from others. Remember, Haruhi’s melancholy springs from when she was a 6th grader in grade school. She decides to change herself at the beginning of middle school. At this time, she’s only 12 years old. So everything Haruhi does to distinguish herself, writing messages to Hikoboshi and Orihime, searching for aliens, time travelers, and ESPers, is to a certain extent based on the reality of a 12 year old. I think this is why she thinks to create a unique experience and reality for herself based on such fictional things such as these, rather than the questionably more “mature” route of trying to distinguish herself through studies or change the world or something like that. I feel that Haruhi’s mind has always kind of lingered back in 6th grade. Though she may learn new things and be exposed to different stuff, she still, in a way, is relating it back to what her 12 year old self thought. After all, her whole worldview comes from that 12 year old self.

AND THAT IS WHY HARUHI’S IDEA OF AN IDEAL ROMANCE IS THE KIND OF SAPPY WAFFY CHEESY THING THAT A 12 YEAR OLD WOULD ENVISION.

And also the reason that she hasn’t really thought of sex. Like I said earlier, everything she comprehends filters through a lens of 12 year old logic and ideals! She understands sex appeal will get her pursuits attention but she probably doesn’t really see much appeal to it HERSELF. She just…knows that other people will like it and be attracted to it.

SIMILARLY, Haruhi’s SUBCONSCIOUS IDEALS of sex appeal are really very Japanese-society influenced. Namely, that she thinks the types of people a guy would be attracted to are busty squeaky senpai, shy quiet glasses-moe girls, and space bubble invading homosexuals. SOUND FAMILIAR? I personally think it’s no coincidence that alien, ESPer, and time traveler within the SOS Brigade are all people who are either attractive TO Kyon or ATTRACTED to Kyon. Or both!

Remember, 12 year old logic is what tells Haruhi that she’s not special and she needs to MAKE herself special. But 12 years old is also the point at time that Haruhi met Kyon. And, I kind of firmly believe that she fell a little bit in love with him the first time she met him. Though at that time he’s John Smith, not Kyon. But, in Haruhi’s mind, Kyon would NEVER fall for a girl like her. He’d chose one of the above, obviously. W-which is why Haruhi subconsciously makes it SO MUCH MORE DIFFICULT FOR HERSELF in creating three prime love rivals for the one guy that she really wants to be with.

And so just kind of…in summary. Haruhi kind of does want a waffy cutesy rabu-rabu relationship with Kyon (John Smith). But she wants it with ALIENS and TIME TRAVELERS and that stuff too. Since she can’t have said things in the reality of canon, she settles for the SOS Brigade, BUT IN THE REALITY OF CAMP, this is much more possible. o/ The problem is, Haruhi is retarded. She is an awkward teenager. Because she’s been so hell-bent on being different and bizarre in her own special way, she isn’t used to being in love with a guy, and she isn’t used to feeling jealous about said guy. (And she sure as HELL isn’t used to being FORCED TO KISS UNDER MISTLETOE and being TAUNTED ABOUT BEING IN DENIAL BY PERVERTED FALLEN ANGELS, Ilu Kira ♥) Plus over and above how much she may have sappy and waffy ideas of love and romance, she’s very willing to PUSH THEM ASIDE and focus on what really matters, which is SOS Brigade srs business. Koizumi-kun can deal with the reality-destroying blue giants that come from the subconscious confusion and frustration that this process causes. ♥

Reason For Apping: Haah, I have told this story a lot it feels. XD ANYWHO. WAY BACK IN FALL OF 2006 I WAS IN JAPAN. And Haruhi I think had just finished coming out shortly before this. I personally had not seen more than the first episode of the show. But you see, Japan loves Haruhi. She was on EVERYTHING. And there was just. So much merch for the show. So I greedily bought it up. My friends at the time told me I should probably watch the show so I knew what the hell it was about. Because I might not even like it! I scoffed at them, then watched episodes on YouTube, then feel in love with Haruhi. She was already in play in camp at the time and I loved how Ryuuken played her and I loved our Haruhi cast so when she was dropped I got really excited and nervous and antsy and apped her.

Reason For Apping: EVERYONE KEPT APPING MY FAVORITE AIR GEAR CHARACTERS. I wanted to app someone from the series but first Albear apped Emiri, then Kaza apped Spitfire, and eventually I just got DETERMINED!1 and canon reviewed like hell and decided on Simca. I was originally kinda torn between her and Benkei but recent chapters have totally just cemented my love for Simca.

So in making an effort to use my character journals more, I figured I'd hop a bandwagon.

If you have any questions about any of my characters, feel free to ask here.

This includes basic canon info but is more geared towards like . . . motivations, specific camp behavior, past events, anything else you can think of, really. "Why does ______ do this?" "Why does _____ act that way around them?" "Why does _____ not want etc. etc. and so on?" etc.

This is more to fulfill any curiosities rather than a forum for concrit, but feel free to use it that way too. "Why the fuck would ____ DO THAT like you did last night?" XD And I'll do my best to answer! It'll also help me work out motivations and such into words.

WHY HAVEN'T YOU PLAYED _____________ YOU SLACKER?! Is a viable question.

I play Ramza, Kakeru, Yongha, Haruhi, and Simca.

And I guess . . . anything goes meme as well? (Only you might have to remind me what meme's what. Despite playing here for over half a year I've never checked my character journal's friend's lists all that often. I am some kind of awesome pathetic. >.>)

Okay...this being the first time I've picked up a character who's been previously played in camp I'm...just a little bit nervous. I really would like to not exactly...avoid, but at least attempt to cope with any emo that may result within characters who were acquainted with the old-Haruhi at meeting the new-Haruhi in camp.

As such, if you would like to try and work things out between your characters and my Haruhi ICly such that any emo on their parts will be dealt with, please please comment here and I will try my very hardest to work things out, arrange threads with you, etc.

Along the same line, if you wouldn't like to work things out and would prefer that Haruhi not jump your character at all to avoid said serious/drama threads, comment here as well so I know to avoid their threads.

So Haruhi has this lovely ability. She can rewrite the universe to make her happy whenever she's upset/angry/depressed/bored/etc. She's also proven capable of making lasers appear out of nowhere and cats start talking. So to put it simply, her godmode runs the gamut from bizarre to overarching.

In the case of the first, I'd like to ask that if your character interacts with something and does something/is planning to do something that could excessively irritate/depress her (like hit on Kyon, beat her at a game, etc.) that you please contact me so we can deal with this in the necessary manners (having Koizumi defeat Haruhi's big blue demons, maybe rewriting the world a bit, etc.)

In the case of the second, it's nothing so extreme, but more of a matter of Haruhi likes to see things go her way. If she wants lasers, there's lasers. But as this is camp that kind of thing isn't too off the wall. However, when it comes to competitions, Haruhi hates to lose. So if you are ever in a competition with her, either enter in the assumption she'll win, or...see the above so we can deal with the resulting backlash. :D

Kind of as an addendum to this, Haruhi DOES have an awesome bitchsquad. So just...be warned. That even if she doesn't directly do anything, Yuki or Koizumi might (I can't speak for them, but that's how canon is)

Height: Not sure, but shorter than Kyon by about a head and taller than Mikuru and Yuki by a bit.

Weight: Average for her height.

Medical Info: Fit as a fiddle! She's in very good shape and keeps it like that.

Eyes: Gold.

Hair: Brown.

Physical traits: She always wears a yellow headband with two bows, she's also really a pretty attractive girl, nice assets, in good shape, looks criminally good in a ponytail.

What's Okay To Mention Around Him/Her: No novel spoilers, because I intend to read those. Also, if you are privy to the information that she is God/Auto-Evolution/Timestream Gut Punch/etc., please talk to me before you reveal this to her because she's not supposed to know.

Abilities: CAN REWRITE THE WORLD TO SUIT HER FANCY. S-separate post on this forthcoming. She also has a lot of random talents like being able to play guitar, sing, play baseball, etc.

Notes for the Psychics: If she gets bored BEWARE. Mostly her thoughts are fairly normal but with a heavy focus on the supernatural/occult/paranormal, etc.

Can I shapeshift/bodyswap/spit at/step on/etc?: Sure! But ask first.

Hugging/Kissing/Other non-violent physical contact: She will NOT be happy and will look at you like you're some kind of freak...unless you are a freak, in which case she might be more accepting, but will still kinda wtf. As such, warn me first.

Maim/Murder/Death: Hahaa...no. I would really rather keep her out of dangerous situations because if she ever was in one...I'm not sure if her ability to rewrite the universe would be able to save her, because it's not exactly something she can do instantaneously, and if she did die/get severely wounded/etc. this would probably cause a lot of grief for the whole cast. So I'd really rather not get into that kind of a mess.

Series: The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi
Character Age: about 16
Canon: It’s an adventure, right? Right? At least that’s the philosophy of one Suzumiya Haruhi. Fed up with her status as just another drop in the ocean of people that is Japan, Haruhi is one school girl who’s out to cause a splash. At first glance—and to all those normal people out there, Haruhi she seems aloof, antisocial, tactless, and reclusive. But for anyone who happen to be or to know anything about aliens, time travelers, espers—or for one an unfortunate-but-conveniently-located member of the literature club, well-endowed senpai, and mysterious transfer student—she’s quick to reveal that she’s full of energy and enthusiasm.

Haruhi is renowned for producing insane off-the-wall endeavors, refusing to take no for an answer, and topping Kyon to the ends of the earth (he likes it, really). She may be the source of auto-evolution, some kind of gut punch to the time-space continuum, or even God, but no one’s ever told her that. So there’s no need to worry for humanity as long as Suzumiya Haruhi gets her way.

Sample Post: There’s definitely something weird about this place! Summer camp’s supposed to be about ghost stories and paranormal investigations with psychotic mass murders on the lose hunting down innocent campers! So just what’s all this nonsense about “Welcome Back, Suzumiya Haruhi!” and the gorillas telling me I need spankings for every day I’ve been gone? Haven’t you ever been to summer camp? This isn’t the setting for this kind of thing! You’re doing it wrong.

As long as I’m here, I might as well show you guys how it’s done~ ♥ So you think I’ve been to this place before, huh? Well, there’s only one way to explain all that! Someone’s decided to clone me and was using my body for their own nefarious purposes. Or it’s a doppelganger! Got it? A doppelganger! Of course they’d want to impersonate me, the chief of the SOS Brigade and Ultra Detective that I am, knowing that I’ve got faithful forces who’ll carry out my every command. But they’d never planned on me showing up to foil their plans!

So if any of you dull brained idiots know anything about this doppelganger that’s been running around impersonating me, you’ve got to report to me right now! If you can’t do anything other than be mindless slobbering idiots you’re going to be my mindless slobbering idiots! Tell me everything you know! It’s no fair that this doppleganger’s been running around a zombie camp with robotic cows, laser flowers, tentacle monsters, aliens, manga characters, and all these girls who have bigger boobs than me!
